TDS Telecom has a great opportunity for a IT Intern–Software Engineer. If you are seeking to gain experience and exposure in the cyber security field and general business, this position provides the perfect opportunity!

 

As an IT Intern–Software Engineer, you will be mentored by subject matter experts on responsibilities such as application design and development. You will participate in team initiatives and projects using Kanban agile methodology to help manage Jira’s, as well as maintaining team documentation. In this position, you will have the opportunity to thrive in a fast-pace, high-tech learning environment. Your existing problem solving, communication, and organizational skills will be expanded by learning a broad spectrum of technologies that will build a solid foundation for your career. You will evaluate leading-edge technologies and develop programs to support various products on TDS’ network.

 

This remote internship has scheduling flexibility but has a minimum requirement of 20 hours per week.

 

The hourly compensation for this internship is $19.00.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be able to complete at least 20+ working hours between Monday - Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM CST
  • Must be 18+ years of age
  • Currently pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, programming, business or related field
  • Two or more semesters of related technology coursework

Other Qualifications:

  • Must be comfortable with Python, JavaScript, React.
  • Knowledge of Relational Database Management System concepts and SQL
  • Basic knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • The ability to analyze complex technical information.
  • Excellent problem solving and logical thinking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication
  • Ability to plan and organize multiple tasks
  • Proficiency with Windows, Linux, MS Office, and various IDE’s
  • Solid work ethic and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Assertive, proactive, and seeks work and clarification on issues/concerns that arise
  • Self-motivated with the ability to act independently and demonstrate sound judgment
  • Dependable, accountable, responsive, and committed to follow-through activities
  • Ability to work both independently and on team assignments
