As the Analyst - IT Business, you will have the responsibility to enable organizational change that delivers stakeholder value through business analysis.  You will understand business objectives, how work is being conducted, analyze alternatives, and recommend solutions.  You will also be performing requirements elicitation, analysis, representation and validation. 

 

Location: Remote

Salary: $79,400 - $89,000 based on experience.  

 

You will need strong analytical skills to critically evaluate information elicited from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into detail, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements. 

 

In this position, you will need strong collaborative skills and the ability to work with cross functional and technical teams to depict/model the major TDS Telecom operations, processes, encompassing architectures, workflows, and events so that projects can deliver effective end-to-end solutions, while achieving business goals, process alignment, and value. 

 

The scope of work typically includes major system projects that cross functional boundaries and support company-wide mission-critical business operations. 

 

You will help contribute to the organization’s ability to produce process improvements through system transformation, process re-engineering and the automation of manual processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop current state processes, elicit useful and harmful attributes of them, and facilitate stakeholder groups to a consensus regarding solution components, requirements, and business process designs.  Elicit, analyze, validate and document requirements in a format traceable back to benefits and forward into execution.
  • Build proficiency in, learn and adhere to industry and company practices for core business analysis functions, including but not limited to facilitation, elicitation, analysis validation, and representation of business, stakeholder, and solution requirements.
  • Ensure business process architecture standards are adhered to.  Identify impacts and linkages to the business strategies, organization and its people, data and systems, business policies, and business rules.  Seek guidance from other IT business analysts, architects, and designers to drive the reuse of BPA components, with the goal of moving from a functionally siloed organization to one that is end-to-end process-oriented. 
  • Keep current with business analysis and requirements best practices, tool and techniques including requirements lifecycle management, and development directions of key applications purchased by or developed within Telecom.
  • Review interface project deliverables to ensure business process quality and traceability of requirements, and for adherence to all business process quality management standards.  Ensure that the interface designs incorporate business process usage standards, such as the use of elements of the established BPA.
  • Resolve any cross-application or cross-release business process issues that may surface in implementing integration projects.
  • Ensure record retention standards related to data elements defined in the BPA are adhered to according to company policies.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) –OR- 4+ years of professional work experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience with business process administration or business analysis experience.

Other Qualifications

  • 4+ years’ experience enabling change in an organizational context by defining needs and recommending solutions that deliver value to diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience performing most of the essential duties of this position in some capacity in a direct or related role.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills, including the ability to communicate effectively among multiple stakeholders to support the project and organizational goals.
  • Experience modeling complex business processes and translating them into understandable IT constructs.
  • Ability to produce and communicate using business analysis artifacts such as textual requirements, decision tables, and process models in tools such as Excel and Visio.
  • Strong critical-thinking skills, including the ability to abstract and see patterns, and the ability to generate and evaluate multiple alternatives as a part of complex decision-making.
