The Manager-Regional Field Marketing is responsible for providing management and leadership of a regional Field Marketing team. This position will supervise the team, provide coaching, feedback and prioritization of work for their region. This position will develop the regional strategy and coach their team to develop and deliver brand awareness and achieve sales/revenue targets within their region. They will ensure teams target consumer initiatives through the engagement of local marketing events and community development efforts within assigned markets, identify potential community involvement initiatives that elevate and enhance the TDS brand while creating a positive selling environment that supports the generation of sales opportunities for both commercial and consumer products.

 

The Manager will coordinate marketing strategy between Consumer and Commercial Marketing managers and Associate Managers in the field, ensuring consistent marketing, messaging and collateral are utilized across multiple channels and markets. The Manager will also be responsible for managing their overall regional Field Marketing budget and provide guidance on spend and develop goals to monitor effectiveness.

 

The selected candidate must be able to work occasional nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

Management of Field Marketing Team:

  • Supervise a regional Field Marketing team; provide coaching, feedback, development opportunities and prioritization of work.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, onboard and train new team members.
  • Coordinate marketing strategy between Consumer Marketing managers and Field Marketing; ensure consistent marketing, messaging and collateral are utilized across multiple channels and markets. • Manage overall team Field Marketing expense budget, monitor closely, and adjust appropriately to meet budget and market goals.
  • Review, evaluate and approve local sponsorship calendar for each market.
  • Analyze marketing plans and results to understand overall effectiveness. Optimize and drive changes based on results, and continually coach and identify new tactics and opportunities.
  • Develop coverage plans for open positions and strategic market entry plans for new markets including contacting key influencers, securing key events and partnerships.

Additional management of Field Marketing Team:

  • Pursue, negotiate, and manage state-wide or regional strategic sponsorships or membership opportunities that cross multiple markets
  • Develop standards and processes to create efficiencies across Wireline and Cable businesses.
  • Build relationships with peers in other departments to understand key growth initiatives.
  • Establish strong internal and external relationships with strategic partners to influence alignment and deliver excellence in execution
  • Develop annual strategic marketing plans and collaborate with team members to determine best implementation

Product Support and Competitive Information:

  • Work with team to learn about competitive threats and opportunities and funnels to consumer and commercial product management/development support teams.
  • Act as a conduit for the Consumer and Commercial Sales Teams to Product Management/Development with input on potential product and service modification and developments feedback.
  • Gain awareness of market dynamics through market visits, research, etc.

Actively participate in troubleshooting marketing related issues impacting sales.

Qualifications

Required Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) OR 4+ years professional work experience.
  • 5+ years marketing or sales experience.
  • 2+ years management experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and able to travel based on the needs of the business.

Other Qualifications

  • Strong people management skills with the ability to manage people in remote markets.
  • Experience in strategic planning and process administration.
  • Experience with evaluating sponsorship proposals and negotiating marketing contracts.
  • Demonstrated capacity to communicate and work effectively across functional groups/departments
  • Background and/or working knowledge in marketing, management and/or sales.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Aptitude to think creatively and strategically and translate strategy into operational tactics.
  • Experience using PC applications.
  • Located within a strategic market in assigned region

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, write and operate a computer keyboard, standard office equipment and telephone. The associate regularly communicates with customers. The associate is frequently required to move about and reach for items. The associate may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
