  • Overview

    We are looking for a Master Control Operator (MCO) to work in Bend, OR.  This position is responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of programming on air for two broadcast television stations and one cable network.

    • Ensures transmission meets quality standards:
      • Monitor and maintain on-air continuity in a multi-channel environment.
      • Take appropriate action for disaster recovery to ensure clean on-air presentation when necessary.
      • Verify programming is correct and timings are accurate.
      • Verify all programs, commercials, and promos air correctly and as scheduled.
      • Verify closed captioning is present and clean to air when applicable.
      • Monitor and log transmitter power readings and metrics to ensure clean air and compliance.
    • Prepares programming for playback
      • Downloads, records, segments and documents all programs, commercials, and promos.
      • Ensures program segments start and end cleanly.
      • Edits and exports promos using Adobe Premiere.
    • Reports problems, discrepancies, and communicates content issues to traffic.
    • Perform additional related duties as required.


    Required Qualifications


    • 2+ years’ of professional work experience.
    • 2+ years’ experience using computers in a professional work environment.

    Other Qualifications

    • Knowledge of broadcast transmission and automation systems a plus.
    • Knowledge of computer editing software (especially Adobe Creative Suite) a plus.
    • Ability to professionally interact with co-workers and clients; strong verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and without supervision.
    • Ability to analyze situations and use logic to address issues; careful attention to detail preferred.
    • Strong work ethic with an emphasis on team commitment.
    • Ability to work weekends, overnights, and holidays as a part of a regular schedule and/or dictated by business needs.
