    As a member of the team you will participate in the architecture, design, and delivery of Systems Solutions and Tooling throughout the TDS ecosystem.  The selected candidate will focus primarily on engineering and supporting solutions that directly provide service to TDS customers and automate the delivery of reference technologies.  In scope services range from traditional ISP services (DNS, NTP, and HTTP) to custom solutions designed within TDS to improve the customer experience with services like IPTV.  You will work to further automate our IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings as we implement hybrid Private/Public cloud solutions for both Systems and internally developed software.

    **This position is open from a Systems Administrator II candidate to the Systems Engineer candidate. **

    Responsibilities

    This position will work with cutting-edge technologies to develop robust applications and platforms in data center environments throughout the country.  You will:

    • Work in a rapidly growing environment with thousands of servers and appliances.
    • Work to automate infrastructure with tools like Ansible, Puppet, and CloudForms.
    • Work to automate infrastructure via scripting with tools such as Python and bash.
    • Work to ensure deployed systems are highly available across multiple data centers.
    • Work with large software development teams to design and deploy custom software.
    • Work with networking teams to make applications and networks work together to facilitate a geographically diverse deployment of services.
    • Work with core TDS technologies including Linux, Load Balancing (F5/Linux), Virtualization(VMware/kvm), Containerization(OpenShift/Docker), Identity Federation, LDAP, DNS, Apache, and Elasticsearch.
    • Help troubleshoot issues that span applications, systems, firewalls, and other network devices.
    • Document technical problems, resolutions, and processes for assigned tasks and projects.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications

    Systems Administrator II

    • Associate's degree (or higher) –OR- 2+ years professional work experience.
    • 2+ years systems administration experience.

    Sr. Systems Administrator 

    • Associate's degree (or higher) –OR- 2+ years professional work experience.
    • 3+ years systems administration experience.

    Systems Engineer

    • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) –OR- 4+ years professional work experience.
    • 4+ years systems administration experience.

    Other Qualifications

    • Foundational knowledge in one of Linux, Networking, or Scripting with a passion for technology and learning.
    • Excellent analytical abilities and problem solving skills.
    • Ability to document and train other teams on solutions you have implemented
    • Motivation to complete tasks and projects in a precise and organized manner.
    • Knowledge of monitoring platforms and applications.
    • Knowledge of systems development methodologies, practices, and tools.
    • Knowledge of system testing practices and tools.
    • Ability to travel as needed for company business and professional development.
    • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed for system implementations and system problem resolution.
    • Experience with scripting in one (or more) scripting languages.
