    **Please note this is a year round internship.  Full time in the summer & 20 + hours / week during the academic year.**


    TDS is looking to hire a few dymanic GIS Mapping Interns to work in our Madison, WI headquarters!  As an GIS Mapping Intern you will gain invaluable hands-on in m many areas that could include; develop scripts that will automate of tasks within the GIS software and TDS data model, develop dashboards that will be used for non-GIS personal to query data, Normalize files with TDS standard Map scales levels, Symbology, Parcel data sets, analyze and correlate data from a variety of sources to be linked to features, and develop databases for managing a verity of project data and data entry in to the database. 


    School is top priority so TDS offers very flexible schedules, while requiring you to work at least 20 hours per week.

    GIS Mapping Internship Highlights

    In this role students will:

    • Cartographic model TDS network features for OSP Engineering.
    • Develop scripts to automate tasks within GIS software.
    • Perform various advanced spatial analysis from raster and vector data.
    • Analyze, correlate, and classify data from a variety of sources to be linked to vector features.
    • Normalize files within TDS standard Map scale, Coordinate System, and Schema.


    Required Qualifications

    • Earned or  pursuing AA, BS, or BA degree in Geographic Information System (GIS) or a related field
    • Familiarity of ESRI / ArcGIS 10.x (desktop; mobile is a plus)
    • MS Office (Word, Access, Excel)


    Other Qualifications

    • Python and SQL experience desired
    • Understanding of Remote Sensing and Image Processing techniques
    • Strong technical aptitude, including the ability to quickly and efficiently learn applications, systems, policies and procedures
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication
    • Ability to work both independently and on team assignments
    • Telephony experience a plus
