    GIS Mapping Internship Highlights

    In this role students will:

    • Cartographically model TDS network features for OSP Engineering.
    • Develop scripts to automate tasks within GIS software.
    • Perform various advanced spatial analysis from raster and vector data.
    • Analyze, correlate, and classify data from a variety of sources to be linked to vector features.
    • Normalize files within TDS standard Map scale, Coordinate System, and Schema.


    Required Qualifications

    • Currently pursuing AA, BS, or BA degree in Geographic Information System (GIS)
    • Familiarity of ESRI / ArcGIS 10.x (desktop; mobile is a plus)
    • MS Office (Word, Access, Excel)


    Other Qualifications

    • Python and SQL experience desired
    • Understanding of Remote Sensing and Image Processing techniques
    • Strong technical aptitude, including the ability to quickly and efficiently learn applications, systems, policies and procedures
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication
    • Ability to work both independently and on team assignments
    • Telephony experience a plus
