As part of the team you will participate in the design, delivery, and operation of TDS solutions.  We focus primarily on engineering and supporting solutions that directly provide service to our customers.  These services range from traditional ISP offerings like DNS and NTP to custom solutions like a system to provide cover art images to set top boxes for the TDS TV product.


This position is open from a Systems Administrator I candidate to the Systems Engineer candidate. 



This position will work with cutting-edge technologies, to develop and support robust applications and platforms in our data centers across the country.  You will:

  • Work on a team where we value open source
  • Work in a rapidly growing environment with thousands of servers and appliances
  • Help us further automate our infrastructure with tools like Ansible and CloudForms
  • Script using Bash, Perl, or Python
  • Work on a team where we deploy solutions highly available and geo-diverse by default
  • Work with a large software development teams to design and deploy custom software
  • Work with Service Provider networking teams to make applications and network work together as part of an overall solution (think anycast, etc)
  • Work with core technologies including Linux, Load Balancing, Virtualization, Identity Federation SAML/OAuth, LDAP, DNS, NTP, etc
  • Help troubleshoot issues that span applications, systems, firewalls, and other network devices

Required Qualifications:

Systems Administrator I

  • Associate's degree (or higher) –OR- 2+ years professional work experience.
  • 1+ years systems administration experience

Systems Administrator II

  • Associate's degree (or higher) –OR- 2+ years professional work experience.
  • 2+ years systems administration experience

Systems Engineer

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) –OR- 4+ years professional work experience.
  • 4+ years systems administration experience

Other Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of systems development methodologies, practices, and tools.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies, practices, and tools.
  • Knowledge of one more operating systems used by the team.
  • Knowledge of system testing practices and tools.
  • Knowledge of problem solving techniques and tools.
  • Ability to travel as needed for company business and professional development.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed for system implementations and resolving system problems.
