The Cloud Architect is a key technical contributor to the development and execution of the OneNeck public, private and hybrid cloud environments. This position works hands-on to construct, evaluate and recommend various cloud architecture and engineering solutions, which most economically accommodates the present and anticipated OneNeck cloud strategy. This position also plays an integral role in development of: support protocols and procedures, monitoring, reporting, patching & maintenance, self-service portals, orchestration and automation, etc., for public, private and hybrid cloud services. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop, and execute OneNeck cloud architecture and related services. This includes hands on deployment of cloud infrastructure, related cloud management and monitoring solutions, cloud integration and migration services, and delivery of automation, including designing and overseeing implementation of:
    • New and existing cloud environments
    • Complimentary cloud products and services
  • Develop support protocols and procedures, including monitoring, reporting, patching, preventative maintenance, etc., for OneNeck cloud architecture.
  • Analyze and understand technical capabilities and limitations of supported and potential solutions.
  • Provide input and thought leadership for new products and services.
  • Understand partner and vendor strategies as it pertains to product reselling, VAR services, etc., including certifications and programs. Assist with strategic on-site sales.
  • Maintain cloud solution knowledge relative to technologies and industry direction by participating in events (seminars, conferences, training) on various technologies and directions.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) -OR- 4+ years of professional experience.
  • 7+ years' of experience implementing and operating large-scale multi-tenant infrastructure.
  • 5+ years’ experience managing/supporting cloud environments from infrastructure to customer portals interface.
  •  2+ years' of experience implementing and operating products and services for an IT services or solutions provider.

 

Other Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred.
  • Demonstrate competency in Cloud environment development, management, maintenance & reporting.
  • Self-directed professional with ability to process, integrate, and distribute large amounts of information and be effectively productive in a peer-structured team environment.
  • Ability to work varied schedule of days and outside of normal business hours for scheduled and emergency maintenance and/or upgrades as well as general availability for after-hours on-call escalation
  • Direct prior experience engineering, deploying, or supporting multi-tenant storage, network, and compute for large multi-tenant provider environments.
  • Expert-level knowledge of cloud deployment practices, modes and methods of delivery including orchestration and automation, tailored scripting, and user interface types.
  • Strong generalist knowledge of IT infrastructure components (i.e.: network, servers, storage, security, voice, video) and IT applications (i.e.: CRM, ERP, Oracle/SQL DB, monitoring systems, service desk systems, customer portals), and IT languages (i.e.: Java, PHP, Python, Ruby, Perl, etc.)
  • Strong generalist knowledge of IT operations (ITIL framework, compliance standards operational documentation).
  • Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 20%+ of time depending on location.
  • High-level infrastructure, hypervisor, OS, or relatable certifications preferred
  • Post-bachelor’s degree or technical certification a plus.
  • Frequent technical/business community proactive communication (blogs, forums, etc.).
  • Experience managing technology partnerships or sales channel partner relationships.
